Nature Adventures SG was founded by Ivan Kwan. Having developed a fascination with animals since a very young age, he has been a passionate advocate for biodiversity and conservation. This interest has led to his involvement in numerous research and nature outreach activities in various environments, both in a professional and personal capacity. Whether it’s studying frogs in the freshwater streams of the Central Catchment Nature Reserve, counting herons at dawn at Pasir Ris Park, looking for giant clams on the reefs fringing the Southern Islands, catching water snakes in the mangroves of Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, or simply strolling through the Singapore Botanic Gardens, Ivan is comfortable in all sorts of environments and is always eager to help increase public awareness of Singapore’s natural heritage.
Ivan has been a volunteer guide for several years with nature interest groups such as the Naked Hermit Crabs and the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum’s Toddycats! programme, and has shared about biodiversity in various settings, both outdoors and at events such as the Festival of Biodiversity and Pesta Ubin.
Having previously worked as a Research Assistant at the National University of Singapore, then as a Conservation Projects Manager at the National Parks Board, Ivan started Nature Adventures SG to focus on nature education and outreach, with the aim of instilling a greater appreciation for Singapore’s wildlife and wild places.
